Leather should be a staple in any woman's wardrobe in 2021 and it seems to be having a resurgence in that we’re now seeing coloured leather coming through in the form of leather jackets, and we look forward to showcasing our coloured leather trousers in the autumn! For now, we have a fabulous collection of the great all-rounder MDK Seattle new thin leather jacket in a variety of colours: classic black, a gorgeous petrol blue and bungee cord green. If you want to play it safe, I would always recommend the never-out-of-stock bestselling black version. Think of your jacket like a cardi when you're styling. For example, a jacket that is fabulous to wear over dresses is MDK's Rucy leather jacket thanks to it's cropped style. It is perfect to wear over a summer dress like the Munthe Tanta dress or the Des Petits Hauts Enoline wrap dress, and is easily layered with a Stand Studio coat over the top if you need extra warmth when you're outside.
If you’re looking for something thicker go for the MDK Seattle classic which is slightly thicker with chunkier metalwork and zips.
If you’re feeling like you have the leather jacket look covered, then move your style forward with a leather shacket. The MDK Naomi style is flying off the shelves in a fashionable clover green or blush pink. This looks especially nice when you turn back the cuffs and wear over a tee or white blouse from Levete Room or a Katie t-shirt from Velvet. Layer with a necklace from Une A Une and hoops from Feeka. I would also recommend paring with Paige Mayslie joggers in classic black. Any type of footwear really works with this look but we are very keen on our new Veja trainers and would recommend those.
Another great look is putting leather on you bottom half - either with a pair or Iris leather pants from MDK or with a subtle A-line below-the-knee Marvin leather skirt from 2nd Day. Both are absolute winners and seriously ramp up your style ratings. As one of the buyers I can honestly say that I wear my Marvin skirt all throughout the year and pair it with a t-shirt in the summer such as the Trek from Munthe, or in the winter a 360 Cashmere jumper with a side tuck, and knee high boots.
So if you haven’t already delved into the world of leather jackets, leather skirts or trousers now is the time to give it go. It’s a luxury item that is well worth the investment and I'm not exaggerating when I say they can be worn all year round.
