HOW TO ROCK THE MIDI SKIRT TREND

The midi skirt trend is not going anywhere and at Feather & Stitch we can show you exactly how to style it for the autumn / winter season. A midi skirt is great for every day, as it allows you to show a bit of leg, but doesn't require a a spray tan or a work out to make it look good. In general, ankle boots, trainers (and tights if needs be) plus a good quality tee by Velvet or knit, is enough to give you an outfit for most occasions.

We love a chunky knit, or a sloppy joe, with a pencil or bias cut skirt and a pair of biker boots, to combine femininity with sass. See the model image below for a great example of the Essentiel Antwerp stripy Taaj jumper over the Essentiel Antwerp Traveller skirt in yellow and black. If you prefer a more neat fitting jumper that finishes at the hips, pair it with a skirt with a fixed waistband, to show off your figure and to give your waist that extra definition. Try the black Button back jumper from Jumper 1234 with Custommade's Paja skirt.

For a day to night skirt, the Home from Danish brand Munthe ticks all our boxes, as it has a beautiful print with orange tones on a soft black base, as well as a wide, sheer asymmetrical hemline to give it an extra edge. Paired with one of our orange knits, or the Munthe Hide jumper, it's a great outfit that you'll feel comfortable in from 8 'till late. To switch it up a notch, choose a rainbow Penelope skirt from Olivia Rubin and pair it with a balloon sleeved sweater from Rodebjer that you tuck in at the front; and if you're wearing a cami like the Dea Kudibal Violet underneath you're also night out ready.

Lastly, you may have noticed we buy the Lottie skirt from Lily & Lionel every season, just in a different print, because it's such a flattering cut and we know that you as the customer love this shape. Pair the sweetpea print in the model image below, with the matching Maddox blouse to create a beautiful set, or add a soft boxy knit from 360 Cashmere for those air conditioned offices or as the weather cools.
