Dresses for Ascot

March 2023

Some of our favourite brands have produced some great dresses for Royal Ascot this year. Here are our top 5 picks.

Stine Goya

Stine Goya never fails to deliver an occasion piece and the Elizabeth dress is pretty perfect for a day out at the races with its incredibly striking oversized floral print. It’s a pale ice blue with large abstract flowers all over. And you can have fun with your accessories by picking out a multitude of colours.

It has a round neck, a little puff shoulder and finishes around the elbow so very flattering on the upper arm. An elastic waist makes this a comfy fit, with a hem that finishes just below the knee.

Munthe

Another of our favourite Scandi brands, Munthe has designed the perfect wrap dress with a twist. Not only does the Jita dress have pockets, but it’s woven with elastane, which means that it moves with you. It’s a very flattering V-neck that ties at the side.

What we love about this dress is its versatility. Because of the cotton base it can be dressed up or down and will keep you cool on a summer’s day at the races. It also has quite a dramatic Victorian puff shoulder and finishes below the knee.

The Downy dress, another beautiful creation from Munthe, also finishes below the knee.  With a long sleeve, the Downy is made in a dramatic multi print of blue, black and green on a neutral base. This print has been so popular this season and we love everything about this dress. It ticks all the boxes for Royal Ascot.

You can match this with a black hat and a metallic heel or bag. Also, if you’ve got one eye on sustainability, as many of the Scandi brands have, you’ll be pleased to know that this is made from sustainable material.

Essentiel Antwerp

If we’re looking for a one-colour dress, then look no further than the Essentiel Antwerp Dazzers cape midi dress in a shocking pink. With organza in the shoulder to give it some structure and a cape design at the back it’s really a fabulous occasion dress. Of course, it ticks all the Ascot boxes with a sleeve that finishes around the elbow and a below-the-knee length.

What we particularly like is its on-trend but oh-so-wearable slight open back, which is cleverly concealed when you wear it with its cape! And have we mentioned the pockets?!

We think this is going to be a best-seller as it’s absolutely an occasion dress that could take you to so many events this summer. It’s also very well priced at £250 and, in terms of accessories, any black or metallic accessory would go perfectly with it.

ByTimo

Last, but not least, we have taken on a new brand from Norway this season: byTiMo, which produces fabulous feminine dresses. This one would be perfect for so many of your summer events, but particularly Ascot because it’s a maxi, has a sleeve, and can be easily paired with a hat, bag, and heels.

If you’re looking for a unique outfit by a hard-to-find brand, then this is the one for you. There aren’t many of us stocking byTiMo in the UK at the moment, so we can be pretty confident that you will be the only lady at the races wearing this dress! It’s called the Chiffon V-Neck dress because of its perfect V-neck shape and the fabric that it’s made from. The green floral print really does suit most of us!

We hope you found this round-up of our top 5 dresses for Ascot useful. Do keep an eye on the website as we have more dresses arriving later this month. We would suggest that, if you see something you like, do get in there quick as we have limited sizes available.
