January is here! The new year brings an element of hope and possibility, but it’s still pretty dark and dreary, so sometimes we need a little help to brighten up the days. Enter our perfect style for the month: colourful knits that will warm you up and add a bit of cheer to every day, event and errand. Which of these puts a happy smile on your face?
Evoking childhood and fairgrounds with its candyfloss-like look and bubblegum hue, the Alma cardigan is a wonderfully whimsical piece. Made from kid mohair and merino wool (without mulesing), the oversized fit is light and floaty and perfect when worn over a plain tee.
With a sprinkling of coloured pattern on a creamy-peach base, the Italian-crafted Bowie jumper has a straight, slightly cropped hem, making it a great match with high-waisted jeans. Long sleeves with offset armholes, plus a round neck and ribbed finishes give this colourful jumper a great contemporary look.
Another sweetie-inspired shade, the Alvaro cardigan is striped in dark red and bubblegum pink. Made from animal welfare-certified kid mohair and merino wool, it’s super soft to the touch and a hypnotic pop of colour for a dark January day.
Nothing says cosy quite like a thick, high-neck jumper, which is why we love to don the Rib ski roll collar jumper in these cold winter months. This pretty piece is made of heavyweight cashmere with a ribbed design, a contrasting pink Fair Isle pattern across the chest, and an oversize fit.
If you really want your bright colours to pop, pair them with a bold contrasting shade for a real impact. That’s exactly what Jumper 1234 has done - to great effect - with their Contrast cardigan, which is a great mix of bright sky blue and buzzy pink. Made of 100% cashmere, it’s extremely soft and comfy to wear.
As the name suggests, the Honeycomb cardigan in cherry evokes the summer with its bee-friendly pattern of small interlocking hexagons. The colourful two-tone pink makes the pattern really stand out, while its 100%-cashmere form adds a touch of luxury.
If pink isn’t quite your colour, but you love the honeycomb pattern of this cardigan, then pick out the alternative sky colour. The contrasting green and blue of this option really wows, while the slouchy sleeves add a relaxed ease to the piece by Jumper 1234.
Now you’ve picked your jumper (or jumpers), combine them with one of these great pairs of jeans for the perfect January look.
High-rise and straight, the Sasha jean is a popular look from Paige jeans. Cut from vintage denim, the Stefania has a light wash to it and subtle lived-in details that remind us of our favourite pairs of jeans. There’s plenty of stretch, too, so you don’t have to struggle to get them on!
With the same great style as the Stefania, the viper black Sasha jeans are an alternative option. The fabulous dark tones still have that great vintage look and wash, but with a slightly edgier feel. They provide an excellent contrast to our colourful knits!
For a slightly more streamlined shape, the Leenah 32 jeans in praline are your go-to. The sleek wide leg comes in a deep, rich blue that really brings out the brights of any coloured jumper. They also work well with both heels and flats, giving you the flexibility to style a look you love.
