Getting cosy with our knit brands

Back

Autumn/Winter '19

One of the things we love about the cooling temperatures is the opportunity to pull on some knitwear. We have so many shapes and shades this season, there's something to suit everyone and to go with any outfit. A good quality jumper is worth that extra investment, as you know it's the one piece you're almost guaranteed to gain a good cost per wear, particularly in the UK or northern Europe!

So things to consider...to start with, the fabric. Do you like a classic cashmere, that feels soft and looks luxurious and will last you for years? Then 360 Cashmere, Jumper1234 and Chinti and Parker are the brands for you. Or perhaps you favour a fun fluffy mohair that's snuggly and warm, and that you can bring out from your wardrobe as it gets super cold? Look at our French favourite Des Petits Hauts who put in a bit of elastane to give them that extra bounce, or Custommade and Munthe who add extra details, such as puffed shoulders or a metallic thread for added interest.

Also, the shape...consider if it's a loose throw on cardigan you're looking for, or something more fitted to wear with skirts. We have lovely all rounders that work both casually and as a smarter piece tucked in, or shapes that work well over dresses. Look what's missing in your wardrobe and at Feather & Stitch we can help you to fill the gap.

And lastly...colour. Can we tempt you to go bold? A colour pop is a great way to brighten up all those grey skies ahead of us. Stine Goya, Maison Ange and Essentiel Antwerp each have some fabulous examples. Or maybe you stay neutral and stick with the greys, navy, black to ensure you have a piece that you can team with anything. Khaki and camel are two key trends of the season and make great additions to your all important neutral palette.

Fashion should be fun and Wyse London and Olivia Rubin have captured that perfectly, with the addition of rainbow stripes and sequins. I challenge you not to enjoy wearing those pieces when winter hits! A perfect way to embrace the cold!
